RV owners use this to add to their 20+ gallon water tanks to keep the water fresh. We had some for our camper already, so when we started seeing slime and green things floating in our 5-gallon chicken waterer, we added 1/2 teaspoon of this to it. It goes about a month before needing refilling, and we found it keeps the water fresh, non-slimy. We've been using the same bottle for years.
